Abstract: The LiMo Platform is a modern Linux-based Operating System (OS) for mobile handsets. It is built around the core of the GNOME Mobile suite, which is in turn a subset of the proven, widely used GNOME Platform. LiMo employs a pragmatic approach to platform development, combining the best-of-breed open source components under licenses such as GPLv2, LGPL, MIT, BSD, with market proven components contributed by LiMo Members under the Foundation Public License (FPL). This paper provides an overview of the key components that make up the LiMo Platform.
